Tan bullhide, round toe, and a shaft that runs 16" — this is the tall, light-coloured boot in the range.
The upper is bullhide in tan, the lightest of the browns and the one that shows its age fastest. The shaft measures 16", tall enough to reach well up the calf, and a spur ledge is built into the heel so a spur has a shelf to sit on. The toe is round, the original western shape, which is roomier where the toes actually are and less likely to catch a doorframe than a squared front.
Tall boots in a light colour are the ones people notice, so wear them where they can be seen — over a jean rather than under one. Tan takes on colour from everything it meets, and that is the appeal: after a season it will not look like anyone else's pair. Round toes are the comfortable end of the western range, but between two sizes the width is still the first thing to change.
