Cognac bullhide with a round toe and a 14" shaft — the warm middle ground between a tan boot and a dark brown one.
Cognac is the reddish, spirit-coloured brown that sits between the two, and on bullhide it reads rich rather than orange. The shaft comes in at 14", a half-step taller than the standard western height, so it covers more of the calf without being a true tall boot. The toe is round. At the heel there is a spur ledge, the small step that stops a spur from working its way down.
A colour like this does most of the work, which means everything else can stay plain. It sits well against a mid-blue jean, better against a stone or olive trouser, and it is the shade to reach for when black feels too severe and tan too casual. Round toes are the easy ones to wear all day. Anyone caught between two sizes should look at the wider width before dropping down a half.
