The shaft measures 14", a step above the standard western height, which puts the top of the boot high enough on the calf to be seen over most trousers. The upper is bullhide buffed to a nubuck finish, so the brown reads soft and matte rather than shining. The toe is squared. At the heel there is a spur ledge, the small step that keeps a spur from working itself loose.
Height is the reason to pick this one. A 14" shaft in a brushed brown is a boot that looks intentional worn on the outside of a trouser, where the finish can catch the light unevenly the way it is meant to.
